Famous Latvian opera singer Elina Garanca to perform in Riga (0)

Latvian mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca will give sellout concerts at the Riga Large Guild(Liela Gilde) February 24 and February 27, which will be her only appearances in Latvia this season. Garanca’s performance together with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra at the Large Guild will be the first opportunity for the public to see her on stage after her impressive debut as Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the acceptance of the Latvian Grand Music Award.
The concert program includes excerpts from "Don Juan" and "Der Rosenkavalier" by Richard Strauss, with Latvian soprano Kristîne Opolais and soprano Francesca Park (Korea) joining Garanèa for a performance of the "Rosenkavalier Trio".
Conductor of this event will be Latvian National Symphony Orchestra Principal conductor Karel Mark Chichon.
