Dinamo Riga still fighting for play-offs (2)

By winning last games Dinamo Riga showed their power and will to play in play-offs. But before that there are some games that should be won. Last games were more nerve killing than hockey enjoying but I think that’s one of things that fans like about hockey. Hope to see more action on Arena Riga ice.

Yesterday Dinamo Riga started four home game series with win against another Dinamo but from Minsk. Luckly Riga won but again, it was a very nervous success. After second period team form Riga was ahead with four goals but the final result was just 5:4. Another difficult victory but the most important – 3 points more in competition for play-off.

Next game will also be taking part in Arena Riga. Competitors are one of league’s rudest teams – Vityaz from Chehova. This game, like all others before, are very important in race for getting in to play-off although this opponent is one of weakest in whole KHL so three points are the only aim for Dinamo. Last game the team showed their power against one of Dinamo Riga competitors Torpedo for last place for 8th position in conference by winning them with minimal 1:0. So Dinamo fans can only hope that Vityaz wouldn’t be able to show their might in Riga.

Two days later could be one of Dinamo most important game this year. Opponents are players from Nizhny Novgorod team Torpedo. Thankfully to Vityaz victory, Torpedo is five points behind Riga but there are still many games in this regular season and this match could change everything. Both teams are looking for victory but as we know- in hockey (as in any other game) can be only one winner.

On Sunday, 7th of February, Dinamo will welcome team CSKA from Moscow. As I mentioned all games are important for all teams and CSKA isn’t exception. CSKA is only 4 points ahead Dinamo now and if they will be weak, they could easily lose their 7th position. This club has long history with lots of great players although now their team lost their strength but I believe that owners aren’t satisfied with 7th place and I’m sure CSKA still tries to catch Spartak and Atlant.

EXPATS gives you chance to see what their next opponent (Vityaz) is more specified on ice besides scoring goals. In video we can see how game between Vityaz and Avangard from Omsk ended quite fast with huge fight in first period. Enjoy!
