What is the best cure against gloomy autumn moods, darkness and crisis? Of course a good dose of humor and laughter. From November 27th till December 5th “Viasat comedy film festival” program will be available to Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda viewers.

The first comedy film festival is represented by the annual, biggest and most prestige in Lithuania – “Kino pavasaris” (“Cinema spring”) film festival.

All the selected films are new, awarded and noticed in different film festivals and the geography varies from Argentina to Malaysia.

One of the most remarkable film that is going to be showed in the festival is going to be Romanian costume comedy “The Rest is Silence” (2007). The film tells a story how Romanians tried to create the longest historical film about the fight for independence at the beginning of the century. Nobody has seen the films before, nobody knows how to make them, but the desire breaks all the obstacles.

“Lovely Loneliness” (2008) is Argentinean romantic comedy about a single 20 years old Soledad, who decides not to have any boyfriends and close relationships for couple of years after a painful breaking up. At the end it is not that easy to keep the word, because life always puts the things in certain way.

Another film, which will make not only laugh, but also remember nostalgic 70’s is called “Taking Woodstock” (2009). American comedy encloses the pre-story of legendary music festival in 1969 that marked hippy era and gathered all the most famous stars of the times. An ordinary student from New York offers his parents’ neighbors’ field for organizers, who search for a space for festival. He didn’t even imagine that this deal will bring the crowd of 500 thousand music lovers and that the event will be written into the books of history.

“Made in Hungaria” (2009) is cheerful rock’n’roll Hungarian musical that portrays swinging 60’s era. One guy comes back to Hungary after 4 years spent in USA and decides to show to his countrymen what real rock’n’roll is and creates a crazy band that frightens local authorities. Suddenly the rival appears and they both have to fight for the title of Hungarian king of rock’n’roll.
